Fall 2009 Expectations

As part of a move toward tracking individual student achievement, the language arts and math programs will be part of a district wide effort to implement common assessments. Students in language arts will have 4 quarterly benchmark assessments that will be common with all secondary schools in Pajaro Valley School District. Data teams at grade level in language arts and courses in math will then assess results as "data teams." Other content areas will begin this process on a smaller scale as well.

Intervention Programs

At Pajaro Valley, interventions are taking place for a myriad of focus areas. CAHSEE support needs as well as needs in particular content areas will be designated as part of the Advisory program this year. There is also a Reading Interventions taking place for below grade level readers in the content areas of English and Science at the ninth grade level. Teachers in these classes will work together to use reading comprehension strategies as a part of their course with monthly assessments to indicate students understanding of content through writing.

EAOP Homework Center

Students can get help with their math homework Mondays in room E-212 from 2:30 to 3:30.  Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays the help is available during the same time in room F-105.  Tuesday is not available because students have minimum days and teachers collaborate in the afternoons.  EOAP is offering "Chili Tickets" for participating students which they can redeem for UC/CSU-related goodies such as pencils, notebooks, mugs, t-shirts, etc.
